Description
CF.lumen Mod APK
CF.lumen automatically shifts your Android phone's screen colors based on the time of day or the settings you choose. Older builds up to v3.16, which still support Android 4.4 KitKat, are available from the XDA Thread linked below. Noticing a performance drop since v3.60? Perform mode is enabled to help.
By default, your screen takes on a warmer tone (a lower color temperature) during the day. This eases eye strain and makes text easier to read. Blue light helps keep your brain alert, so cutting back on blue tones in the evening can make it easier for your mind to wind down.
A red filter is applied during sleep hours. Red light reduces eye strain and helps preserve your night vision.
Light sensor
The light sensor can adjust colors automatically for you. The sleep filter can switch to full darkness or to the day filter when the room is brightly lit.
A calibration option lets you test different light sensors to find the most accurate one.
Color filters
Several filters are available, named after colors such as red, green and blue. They don't limit the display to those colors alone. Instead, they convert the image to grayscale and then show it at the matching levels, which keeps details that would otherwise be lost.
Grayscale, inverted colors, color temperature adjustment, and custom R/G/B adjustment filters are also available.
Colorblindness
You can also set the master color filter to a colorblind mode. Options include deuteranopia/anomaly, protanopia/anomaly and tritanopia/anomaly. These settings are designed to improve clarity and color differentiation.
These filters aren't guaranteed to work for everyone. They were created by Google engineers, and CF.lumen simply includes them.
Pro version
Upgrading to CF.lumen Pro supports ongoing development and removes the nag prompts. It also unlocks notification options and enables Tasker integration.
Pro mode adds buttons that let you quickly turn the filter off or switch to sleep mode. You can also set the notification to appear only while the color filter is active.
Outside of Pro mode, the notification will prompt you to upgrade. It may seem like the notification exists only to annoy you, but it actually stops Android from randomly killing background services. You can hide the notification without it being terminated by visiting Settings.
Pro features will be possible by installing Chainfire3D Pro (legacy).
Performance
You shouldn't notice any performance loss when no color filter is active. How much a filter affects your device depends on what you're doing. Some devices showed no change at all, while others showed a slight difference. The graphics driver in use also plays a role.
Future
Keep in mind that Android's rendering system can change over time. This app could stop working on newer Android versions, and a fix may not be possible.
Permissions
Most permissions are used for Google Maps, which needs your location, and Google Play for in-app purchases. I can't say exactly what data Google components send to Google's servers, but it's clear that no information is sent to me or anyone other than Google.
