Description

A twist on Spades that adds online multiplayer play.

A fresh take on the popular card game Callbreak Multiplayer, now with online multiplayer action.

Callbreak is a trick-taking game for four players played with a standard 52-card deck, usually across five rounds. Before the first hand, seats are assigned and the opening dealer is picked: each player draws a card at random, and the order of the drawn cards decides who deals first and where everyone sits. After that round, the deal passes counterclockwise. The dealer begins each round by giving themselves 13 cards face down, then deals one card face up to each player in turn, moving counterclockwise and starting with the player on the dealer's right.

Starting with the player on the dealer's right, everyone places a bid on how many tricks they expect to win in the current hand. In Callbreak, spades are the highest-ranking suit. When it's your turn to play, you must follow the suit that was led if you can; if you can't, you must play a spade to try to win the trick; and if that isn't possible either, you're free to play any card. To give yourself the best chance of taking a trick, play the highest card you hold. The player to the dealer's right leads the first trick with any suit, and play moves counterclockwise. A trick goes to the highest spade if one was played, otherwise to the highest card of the led suit. The winner leads the next trick. Meeting your bid exactly earns you points, while each extra trick beyond your bid adds 0.1 points. If you fall short of your bid, your total score is reduced. After four rounds, players' scores are added up to set their target for the fifth round. Once the final round ends, the winner and runner-up are declared.
