Description
Butterfly Affection is a dark, unpredictable, and remarkably atmospheric visual novel from the FreakilyCharming studio. It stands out for its unconventional storytelling within the genre and its distinctive art style. The developers set the story in a fictional universe centered on a nameless protagonist who unexpectedly comes face to face with a real "bogeyman," a strange creature covered in tentacles, claws, and a shapeless shell. It is a creepy sight, yet also mysterious and strangely alluring…
Content, gameplay, and atmosphere
The story in Butterfly Affection opens in a surprising way for the genre. The main character (MC) is immediately confronted by a monster near the house and is left to work out what is going on, feeling out the situation and adapting to the unstable world around them. So how do you move forward through time and avoid mistakes?
That is hard to say. In the latest PC version, you can push straight ahead and aim for a negative ending right away (and even without registering on our site, a detailed guide to every ending is built right into the game). Or you can dig deeper into the story and try to turn the ugly snail into a butterfly, though could that truly happen? Eager to try it yourself? No problem, because the universe is waiting for new discoveries!
