The screen is split into two mirror-image areas. Each side has a spot where angels can be summoned and a path that enemies travel along. At the end of that path sits the character you must defend, and if an enemy reaches it, you lose. The two identical areas let two players face off, with the last one standing claiming the level.

SUMMON POWERFUL ANGELS

Along the bottom of the Battle Angels screen, you'll find a card system and the energy you spend to play cards. Energy builds up over time and as you defeat enemies. Since the enemy path is short, you'll need to choose your strategy carefully. Each angel you summon costs part of your available energy.

New characters appear on the field, and their distance from the enemy doesn't reduce their attack. Wherever they stand, they can strike enemies and slow their advance. Since your card count is limited, you can merge two matching characters into one, which raises its star rank and boosts its power against enemies.

BOOST YOUR POWER TO TAKE ON THE ENEMY

One of the most appealing things about Battle Angels is the collection of adorable characters. As you play through levels and complete quests, new characters unlock before your eyes, along with matching cards. Each card shows how many copies you own and how many you need to upgrade that character's stats. This system is common in many titles where upgrading characters takes up much of your time.

Upgrades matter a lot in PVP battles, where you face other players to see who lasts longer. The side with the stronger, more effective characters usually comes out on top. Regular enemies aren't as threatening as the boss that opens each level, which has far more health than usual. You can also team up and play with your friends.
