Aura – Substratum Theme Mod APK

Aura is a custom ROM built on Android 7.1.2 (OMS) with full support for the Substratum Theme Engine. It also works on Android 8.0.0. Make sure you have the latest Substratum Theme Engine version and the OMS ROM installed.

PLEASE READ

The Substratum Theme Engine requires root access, or a rootless setup. To run it rootless, you will still need a custom ROM that includes the latest rootless commits. For more details, contact your ROM developer.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install the Substratum app, then get the Aura themes.

2. Grant all permissions requested by the Substratum app.

3. Open the Aura motif to reach the Overlays tab.

4. Browse the available overlays and select the ones you want to use.

Android 8 users can choose their Android version from the SystemUI overlay in Settings.

5. Tap the floating button at the bottom right to choose Build and Enable.

6. Restart your phone or SystemUI to see the changes take effect (optional).

NOTE

If a theme is already applied, open the Substratum app and tap the navigation drawer menu, select recovery, tap Restore theme, and then disable all overlays.

A. The Aura theme works automatically on any ROM that supports the Substratum Theme Engine. You can use the Aura template, but some icons in the Settings or notification panel may remain unthemed.

Q. Q. Some elements look odd after I applied the theme. What went wrong?

A. Restart SystemUI first. If the phone doesn't reboot automatically, then restart the device yourself.

Q. Q. Some apps stop responding and force-close after an update.

A. To open the overlays tab, tap the Aura theme.

Select the problematic app, then tap the floating button in the bottom-right corner to enable the Build & Enable option.

Q. My device is stuck in a boot loop! What can I do?

Substratum includes its own recovery tool, the Substratum Rescue System (SRS). This automated feature saves an archive to /Storage/Emulated/0/Substratum/SubstratumRescue.zip. You can flash that ZIP in recovery mode to restart your device.
