Anime refers to animated films, typically produced in Japan and often adapted from novels or manga. Today, plenty of apps make it easy to stream these titles, and in this article we'll take a closer look at AnimePlay, an anime viewing app that offers some of the most popular anime and donghua right now, along with a range of appealing features.

About AnimePlay

AnimePlay is an online animation streaming app that originated in Indonesia. It offers a vast library of anime and donghua released worldwide, from classic favorites to recent titles. The catalog spans countless genres, so there's plenty to explore. Its clean, simple interface has also earned it a loyal following, and within a short time of launching, the app passed one million downloads on Google Play.

An Indonesian App

Developed by Jabat Software, AnimePlay has found strong success in Indonesia and is steadily expanding into neighboring countries. Much of its appeal comes from a large, regularly updated library of more than 3,500 series. Videos are available with Indonesian subtitles and in high video quality. You can also save titles for offline viewing and watch them later without an internet connection, similar to the offline feature found in the YouTube app.

The AnimePlay Interface

The AnimePlay interface is straightforward, with clearly organized tabs and categories. The home screen includes search and browsing options, with anime grouped by topic into sections such as Trending and New, making it easy to keep up with the latest releases. Searching for titles is also simpler thanks to the app's built-in filters.

The player screen offers several customizable options, including adjustable playback speed and video quality up to 1080P, along with a number of other useful controls. From here you can also add titles to your favorites or download them for offline viewing.

A Massive Anime Library

As noted above, AnimePlay boasts an extensive collection of anime and donghua. According to the developer, users can access more than 3,500 titles, covering both films and series, so you'll find nearly every kind of animation on the platform. Jabat Software does not claim any copyright over the content. The app functions as a search and streaming tool that directs users to the videos rather than hosting them, which is why it can cover such a wide range of titles found across the internet.

Continuously Updated News

Once you sign up for an AnimePlay account, the app can send you notifications about the titles you've watched. If you follow a particular series, you'll receive the latest details about it, including its release date, episode count, and average episode length. For newly released series, you'll also be notified as soon as each new episode becomes available.

Indonesian Translations

Given that the app comes from Indonesia, Indonesian translations are to be expected, but subtitles are also available in other languages, so there's no need to worry. According to the developer, AnimePlay focuses on delivering high-quality translations, with accurate wording and subtitles that are easy to follow. This commitment to quality is a major reason for the app's success.

Storage

Saving your favorite titles is an essential part of any streaming app, and AnimePlay makes it simple. Once you log in, you can use this service right away. Beyond offline downloads on your device, you can add titles to your favorites or create bookmarks. Favorites and bookmarks are stored online in the system's cloud, so you can keep track of your favorite shows across several devices.
