ALDLdroid is an app designed for OBD1 GM (ALDL) engine control modules. It currently supports both 160 baud and 8192 baud protocols. It works with TunerPro ADX files, so make sure you have the ADX file that matches your ECM code mask before buying the app. Your ADX file must NOT be encrypted, since the app cannot read encrypted files. Once you launch the app for the first time and its folder structure has been created, copy your ADX file into the ADX directory inside the ALDLdroid folder on your SD card. Check that your Android device has external storage capability, most likely an SD card slot.

A tuning section is also included and uses TunerPro XDF files to let you edit BIN files. Real-time tuning is supported at the moment. Feedback on this feature has been limited, so you may run into a few issues here and there. The app also supports the Moates Ostrich and Moates AutoProm hardware. Chip programming is possible with the Moates BURN1/BURN2 hardware.

Right now, you can connect to the ECM via Bluetooth or USB (FTDI). Make sure your Android device supports one of these two connection methods. USB host mode is only available on Android 3.0 and later, and not every device supports it. Keep in mind that a USB port on your Android device does not automatically mean it supports USB host mode.

Double tapping any page of the dashboard opens dashboard edit mode. This mode gives you full control to add, edit, and delete dashboard indicators. You can drag indicators to wherever you like and create them in the style you prefer: gauge, basic readout, bar graph, or histogram. Once you enter a specified value, you can set an alarm to trigger when it is reached. The indicator can turn red, the Android device can vibrate, or both.
