Description
AKAPAN NITE
A turn-based RPG where you play as an ordinary person setting out on an epic adventure, facing a host of strange, Japanese-style monsters determined to kill you.
Review
The story follows an ordinary office worker whose daily commute by train takes a strange turn. He ends up in an ancient temple, where he falls through a large hole and lands in a dungeon ruled by bizarre monsters.
The protagonist wears red shorts and carries nothing but a bag and an umbrella, which he swings as a weapon against the creatures. This is where your thrilling adventure begins: you must help him escape this perilous place and find his way back home.
Gameplay
As the hero, you explore dungeons where every step may bring danger in the form of peculiar monsters. The gameplay is turn-based: once you move your hero, the monsters take their turn.
On each level, you must collect all the hearts to advance to the next one. Defeating every enemy is not required. Along the way, you will find a variety of defensive and offensive items that you can use at any moment during battles.
Special cards sometimes drop from defeated monsters, granting unique abilities that let your hero perform special moves. As you progress through the stages, you will pick up weapons, armor, and other useful gear. Remember to eat food to restore your health, because if it drops to 0, you will fail the stage.
