Aix Weather Widget (donate) is a weather app for Android created by Per Magnus Veierland. Install it on your Android devices and enjoy it.

Aix is a pure home screen app widget that presents temperature, maximum and minimum values, precipitation and sunrise and sunset times in a graphical layout, giving you a compact and accurate forecast.

Weather data comes from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the NOAA National Weather Service. The data is most accurate for Europe and the US.

To read the introduction, open the app from the market or press the menu key on the Aix configuration screen. If you run into any problems with the widget, email me and I will help you sort them out.

This widget is designed to fit a portrait 4×1 layout.

From the MET data provider regarding a recent change:

“Until December 14th, the Yr weather forecasts for large parts of northern Europe were based on an older forecast model called Hirlam 8 km. That model has now been discontinued and replaced by the ECMWF model. Unfortunately, this means Yr can no longer offer short-term forecasts with hourly resolution for the UK. The temporal resolution is now every 3 hours.

We are working on a global forecast with hourly resolution and hope to roll out this update in the not-too-distant future.”
