Description
In A Dance of Fire and Ice, you guide two opposite-colored elements toward the end of each screen through distinctive gameplay. Some levels are set to music, while others follow an offbeat rhythm. As you progress, the distance these two can cover grows longer, more intricate, and more demanding, though helpful tools appear along the way. Stay calm, move precisely, and keep to the timing.
Improved Backup System
Alongside the standard save feature, the latest version adds a special function that lets players back up the progress they have made. It works much like saving, but with this backup, you can restore your earlier data if the save file on your device runs into trouble. It's a simple addition, yet it proves especially handy for multiplayer.
Every Scene Is Simply Eye-Catching
Playing A Dance of Fire and Ice, you'll be struck by its striking yet uncluttered visuals. The clean design lets players focus entirely on the two central elements of the screen, Fire and Ice, shown as red and blue components that are easy to tell apart. These two always appear together on the playfield, and at times they present specific challenges.
As you play, the environments appear in a set sequence, yet over the following many levels some surroundings tilt in particular directions. There are no clear signs to tell them apart, so you'll need quick reflexes when steering the blue and red elements. The challenge unfolds before you, and every player must find a way to pass each stage cleanly.
Get Ice and Fire Moving
At the start, you're given two balls, one blue and one red, which always stay linked. One element acts as the center while the other orbits it, and sometimes their roles swap. Using this feature, you guide fire and ice across a grid of squares, positioning the pair on a horizontal or vertical line. Once you finish, the order shifts, and you won't have time to stop and think.
Forming that straight line takes skill, and each element's path is marked by dashed lines. The movement isn't unlimited, though; there's a boundary you must respect. If you fail to create a straight line and the outer element circles all the way around, both elements vanish. Put simply, when building a horizontal line in a straight environment, the two elements must each sit in their proper positions.
The two elements depend on each other to move, with one serving as the anchor for the other. As the environment changes, you must build your lines correctly to match it. This is often what makes the game tough, since the surroundings can rotate in any direction, and every player needs a sensible approach to handle it.
Variety in Every Level
Each screen sets a certain distance you must cover to the end, much like a stepping-stone path. The goal is fairly simple: reach the end of the level and line up a moving element with the level's white circle. Once that's done, you advance to the next level. The objective is straightforward, but the route to the finish can be surprisingly complicated.
A Dance of Fire and Ice offers a wide and varied range of levels, and working through them takes time. Simpler stages always appear to help you get familiar with the elements and gameplay. Over time, your skills improve, and you'll face tougher challenges from the environment and the speed of the elements. Naturally, nothing removes these difficulties entirely.
Plenty of Help for Players
Not every step brings new elements, but as you advance, icons begin to appear in certain areas. Each symbol has an effect on your two orbs. The snail icon, for instance, slows both spheres and gives you a chance to move more precisely, while the rabbit icon does the opposite and boosts movement speed.
